Organic forms: Rounded edges & curved silhouettes
12 May 2025
Inside this year's fair, brands and designers explored a growing appreciation for organic forms that accentuated fluidity and shapes found in nature. New designs emphasised curvilinear furniture with sculptural bold elements, and soft edges that evoked a sense of harmony and flow.
Embracing curves & fluidity
More than just a short-term visual trend, curves represent a universal shift towards comfort and intimacy in living spaces. Brands like Piet Boon, Minotti, Giorgetti, and Linteloo showcased low-profile sofas with high backs, to offer us a sense of warmth and enclosure. They mastered the balance to create pieces that are both supportive and sculpturally elegant.
Tactility with textures and fabrics
The emphasis on organic forms extended to the use of materials and textures. It was a pleasure to discover rugs from Minotti crafted from New Zealand wool, as we all know, a premium material with durability. The Big Glow pendant from Rakumba, another perfect example of how the beauty of natural materials can add depth and warmth to interiors.
A palette Inspired by nature
Colour choices were also heavily drawn from nature's palette. Earthy tones like moss green, mustard yellow, mocha cream, and brown were apparent. These hues were complemented by deeper neutrals such as burgundy, adding richness and depth.
