Giorgetti at IMM Cologne

10 February 2017

Giorgetti, brand leader in Made in Italy design, returns after 15 years to Imm Cologne, the most important furnishing fair in Europe, taking place from 16 to 22 January 2017. To mark the occasion, the company will present its first outdoor collection, “Open-air”, and celebrate the 30th anniversary of the iconic Progetti collection with Progetti Pure, the first limited edition reinterpretation of the line, while the Alma desk provides another novelty for indoors.

Completely new this year is the outdoor collection designed by Chi Wing Lo and Ludovica+Roberto Palomba, an ambitious project that will complete the product ranges that have been created through collaborations between the most esteemed international designers and Giorgetti's skillful master artisans.

The fair in Cologne will also see the launch of Progetti Pure, the limited edition small armchair on sale exclusively for 2017. It is the first of four designs created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Progetti collection with the "Progetti30" initiative. During 2017, four interpretations of the classic version will take shape: a series of pieces to collect, stylishly fulfilling the desire for uniqueness. Progetti Pure presents a fresh design with its beech frame, left uncovered to highlight the indisputable cabinet-making expertise the company has cultivated in over a century of history. Solid wood, often the hidden heart of Giorgetti furniture, becomes the main feature: the frame in pure wood stands out with its typically original grain, the natural imperfections of the raw material highlighting the formal perfection of the finished product. Leather becomes a pure component to complement the structure. Progetti Pure designs will be identifiable by a special logo designed specifically for this limited edition.

Other novelties include a desk designed by Pamela Amine, a student of Istituto Marangoni Milano The School of Design, emphasising how Giorgetti gives space and visibility to new young architects. Decorative items from the Giorgetti Atmosphere collection, such as the precious table football in crystal, wood and leather, complete the range displayed in Cologne.
