Hotel Il Sereno – Dressed by Patricia Urquiola

Il Sereno, a contemporary hotel perching on the edge of Lake Como, Italy. Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola was involved in nearly every aspect from its architecture and bedroom furnishings to its staff uniforms and private boats. 

Urquiola was awarded Designer of the year in 2015 by Wallpaper* Magazine she also designs lighting and furniture frequently for many of ECC's staple brands, for example, Flos, Glas Italia, Emu and Warli etc.. 

The 30-suite boutique hotel is surrounded by the Italian Alps, Urquiola was inspired by the colours of the natural surroundings, the glistening water and the dramatic mountains and the adjacent village of Torno. 

With the use of mostly natural materials all sourced locally, you get a sense of nature running through the aesthetically contemporary hotel, many earthy blues and green soft furnishing. With vertical plantings both inside and out.
