Office Brabant by Piet Boon

Studio Piet Boon has been chosen as the 2020 Architizer A+Awards Jury Winner in the Office - Low Rise (1-4 Floors) category for their Office Brabant in the Netherlands. Commissioned to create a timeless and functional concept for a Dutch office space, the design intent for this barn-like structure was inspired by farms in the surrounding area. Every year, the Best Design Awards celebrates excellence in graphic, spatial, product, interactive and motion design within the design community in New Zealand.On the evening of this year's event, guests were asked to participate and contribute to the 'Best' Zettel'z pendant with an illustration of ‘an object that inspires them the most’.ECC was lucky to view all the entries to select one favourite. Salone del Mobile Milano 2019 - Day 5

Today was quite a different experience as we headed into the design districts in central Milan. While the confines of a tradeshow offer convenience in terms of the number of brands you can see, stepping out into town and seeing things in a localised environment brought the products to life.

Today we concentrated on Euroluce, the lighting fair within a fair. Each year the Milan Fair shows furniture, and alternates between lighting and bathrooms/kitchens. This year there is much ground for ECC to cover being a lighting year.

We are back at the fairgrounds today visiting two more furniture halls. The fairgrounds are like a mini city and it is a real challenge to get through and view as much as possible.

We were met on the Minotti stand by Mr Minotti this morning before the morning crowds arrived. Being the best (in our opinion) of the luxury brands there is great interest to see the stand, but limited capacity to accommodate the crowds. To solve this issue Minotti showcased several settings behind curved glass walls, so that everyone got a taste of the Minotti style.

Welcome to the coverage of the 2019 Milan Furniture Fair. We start today, officially the day before the fair opens, to tell you a bit about what we saw on our first day out and about. We also attended the press opening of the Moooi exhibition and spoke exclusively to Marcel Wanders.

ECC Celebrates 110 Years

As we celebrate our 110 year anniversary, we commemorate four generations of being a family-run business. Last night we hosted our family, customers and friends to a special evening to celebrate this milestone. Thank you to everyone who made it a night to remember.

"A Castiglioni" Exhibition Opens in Milan

For the centennial of his birth, the Triennale di Milano have produced a major exhibition on one of the most important masters of Italian design, Achille Castiglioni (1918-2002). The exhibition is curated by Patricia Urquiola in collaboration with Federica Sala and creative partner Flos, and is on from October 6th, 2018 to January 20th, 2019 in the spaces of the Milanese cultural institution based in the Palazzo dell’Arte.

Dixon Opens a Restaurant Alongside his Coal Office

This restaurant is the final piece in the jigsaw puzzle of Tom Dixon’s new London HQ - with trade counter, office and shop in the heart of Kings Cross. The three-floor dining space has a bar, bakery, outdoor terraces as well as two private dining rooms.
