Daldy Street Park

Photography: Heather Ogden-Handa & David Straight
A grand, 38m-wide green park, walkway and cycleway and a slow-speed street is beginning to make its way through the heart of the Wynyard Quarter. With the key first stage complete, Daldy Street will eventually provide a continuous green link from Victoria Park to the tip of the future Headland Park, planned for Wynyard Point.
Working closely with the architects Architectus and the lighting consultants Opus International Consultants, ECC provided LED street lighting and inground fittings for the client Waterfront Auckland.
The Auckland City Council have been pleased with the look and performance of the MaxiWoody by iGuzzini used in Lorne St, Elliott St and Fort St and wanted to maintain a consistent look within the city centre. The 10 year warranty offered by ECC was also a great benefit to council.
The main floodlights are MaxiWoody Compact, which is the latest release in the MaxiWoody range. ECC provided the fitting with a flood optic in warm white, which was mounted on poles and clamps sourced by the architect. The smaller Woody fitting is used specifically to highlight the pedestrian footpath alongside the road. Small Ledplus ingrounds are scattered around the footpath for aesthetic enhancement. All the LED lights are extremely energy efficient leading to cost savings.
