Working Style, Shortland Street

Front spotlights from iGuzzini add to the stylish simplicity of the Working Style Shortland Street store.
Late last year, Working Style unveiled its new flagship store in the General Building at 33 Shortland Sreet, one of the best preserved Chicago-style high rise buildings in Auckland. Originally named Yorkshire House, it was completed in 1928 and at the time was considered one of the finest buildings in Auckland.
Inside the store metal halide Front Light track spots in a white finish were chosen for their ability to blend into the (white) ceiling and retain the high end look and feel that is expected when entering a Working Style store.
Good light quality, light output and colour rendition were all important for the display of product within the store, particularly when showcasing fabric choices. Pixel Plus downlights were used on the lower ceilings for the same reason, except halogen lamps were used in these areas for an even distribution of light.
The result is a clean, crisp look where the clothing is the focus.
