Kenyan Soapstone is a metamorphic rock that consists of the mineral talc, also known as steatite, and is known for being soft and easy to work with.

From marbled whites, soft pinks and oranges, to deep blue grey, the natural minerals found within soapstone make each Asili piece completely unique. Asili is a collaborative platform with a social impact. Producing high-quality handcrafted pieces, using natural, ethically sourced materials from East Africa, each item is made by hand, and every Asili purchase directly supports the growth and development of artisans and their trade. Origin: Kisii, Kenya. *Soapstone is sealed but not waterproof. Each piece comes with a product card explaining provenance & care instructions. Wipe with a damp cloth to clean, and dry immediately. Don’t soak. Please note, due to the handmade nature of the products there may be 3-4cm of variance within sizing.
