Jacaranda is a fast growing softwood widely planted in Kenya and commonly used for carving of various handicraft products.

The collection is  inspired by the traditional craftsmanship and daily items found in the households and workshops in Kenya.  Asili works directly with a wood carving co-op in Kamukunji,  Nairobi,  identified upon fair-trade principles. All these carvers workshops are certified Fair Trade producers.
Asili is a collaborative platform with a social impact. Producing high-quality handcrafted pieces, using natural, ethically sourced materials from East Africa, each item is made by hand, and every Asili purchase directly supports the growth and development of artisans and their trade.
Origin: Nairobi, Kenya.
To keep your Jacaranda stool in best condition, lightly wipe clean with a damp cloth, do not scrub as this could cause the stain to fade.
Please note, due to the handmade nature of the products there may be 3-4cm of variance within sizing.
