Arik Levy was born in Tel Aviv, Israel in 1963. He is a widely recognised artist, technician, filmmaker, photographer and industrial designer. Levy attended the Art Center Europe in Switzerland, graduating in 1991 with distinction in Industrial Design. After college he moved to Japan where he designed and produced products and pieces for exhibitions. He then returned to Europe and put his artistic ability towards creating set designs for contemporary dance and opera (the Grand Théâtre de Genève, the Finnish National Ballet and the Batsheva Dance Company in Israel). He also taught in Paris at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle from 1992-1994. Then in 1997 Levy collaborated with graphic designer Pippo Lionni and established his own studio called Ldesign. These days Levy still remains Creative Director and Partner of LDesign in Paris. Arik Levy has taken part and displayed his art work in many exhibitions, galleries, museum and fairs. However he is renowned for his limited edition designs and installations. His most well known is his ‘Rock’ sculptures of which were
composed of mirror-polished stainless steel. These sculptures can be displayed as standalone pieces of work or they can be integrated into practical items such as side tables, cabinets.
