Meet the duo behind Søktas

Søktas the new artisan glass lighting brand to join our list of ECC suppliers, based out of Currumbin, Gold Coast, Australia these guys are slightly closer to home than most of our major European brands. Oliver Höglund and Ryan Roberts are the creative minds behind Søktas, and the company’s inception began in Oslo, Norway where they first met. Oliver focuses on creating and designing the unique pieces, while Ryan operates the business. Søktas is a reflection of both their stories and visions. Oliver’s father, Ola Höglund and grandfather, Erik Höglund worked at the renowned Kosta Boda Glassworks in Sweden, and the craft has been passed down through the generations.

Yellowtrace Interview: Interior Designer Rufus Knight

Rufus Knight is a notable Interior Designer in New Zealand and internationally. In less than two years, his boutique practice already has an enviable global portfolio of projects underpinned by design rigour that could be described as the sweet point between classicism and minimalism. Australian based design media Yellowtrace has recognised his brilliance, and in-conjunction with Laminex they interviewed Rufus Knight to tap into his intelligent mind and hear about his creative process.  ECC has collaborated with Rufus on multiple projects like the intimate Lonely stores in Wellington and Auckland View Project here and the Venice Biennale View Project here.   Read the full Yellowtrace interview here

Wallpaper* Design Awards 2018: Minotti is awarded the prize in the “Best Debut” category

Minotti’s relationship with the architect and designer Rodolfo Dordoni stretches back 20 years. And as artistic director, Dordoni has long overseen the brand’s output. In 2017, though, he decided to add extra hands and called on Christophe Delcourt. The French designer’s pieces feature sculptural shapes and subtle detailing, and he brings a sophisticated design sensibility that’s a perfect fit with Dordoni’s perfectly engineered elegance.   Photography: Luke Kirwan. Interiors: Matthew Morris. Text by: Rosa Bertoli
