Atelier Vierkant with Suzanne Turley

Since its discovery, clay has been a medium used to express knowledge and connect people. Ancient cultures inscribed script and built villages in it, while ceramists, artists and architects world over still rely on its integrity to construct our material world. Best Zettel'z

Every year, the Best Design Awards celebrates excellence in graphic, spatial, product, interactive and motion design within the design community in New Zealand.On the evening of this year's event, guests were asked to participate and contribute to the 'Best' Zettel'z pendant with an illustration of ‘an object that inspires them the most’.ECC was lucky to view all the entries to select one favourite. We met with the winner Ethan, who later received the one-of-a-kind Zettel’z pendant with submissions from the event to take home.Watch the full interview below.

The iGuzzini Light Experience

Meet the duo behind Søktas

Søktas the new artisan glass lighting brand to join our list of ECC suppliers, based out of Currumbin, Gold Coast, Australia these guys are slightly closer to home than most of our major European brands. Oliver Höglund and Ryan Roberts are the creative minds behind Søktas, and the company’s inception began in Oslo, Norway where they first met. Oliver focuses on creating and designing the unique pieces, while Ryan operates the business. Søktas is a reflection of both their stories and visions. Oliver’s father, Ola Höglund and grandfather, Erik Höglund worked at the renowned Kosta Boda Glassworks in Sweden, and the craft has been passed down through the generations.
