Artemide Skydro shimmers like pools of water on the ceiling.
Like aqueous bodies dancing in air, the Artemide Skydro blends light, shape and texture into one unique fixture.
The Artemide Skydro ceiling light consists of six highly reflective elements plated in chrome that resemble smooth, rounded river pebbles. The individual units in the Artemide Skydro are arranged together for an arresting display. They form a reflective surface onto which light is cast from the 160 W halogen bulb below. The light source is hidden away in a pressure cast aluminium housing, which resembles a droplet of mercury hanging below the Artemide Skydro fixture.
Besides the unique beauty of the Artmide ceiling light, the light it provides is just as impressive as its design. Because the light source is located below the Artemide Skydro fixture, the light it casts onto the reflective surfaces of the six metallic ""pebbles"" on the ceiling are directed throughout the room as comfortable, pleasant illumination. The Artemide Skydro is a stylish addition to bedrooms and hallways. It is also beautiful when placed over a dining table or above a group of seating in the living room. Combined together with multiple models, the reflective surfaces of the Artemide Skydro can grow into a fixture as large as desired.
The Skydro ceiling light was designed by Ross Lovegrove in 2007.
