Minotti Studio 2020
In November, ECC welcomed the arrival of the Minotti 2020 Collection, seeing for the first time the core ranges which define it; Connery, Torii and Blazer. This year's collaborations with Rodolfo Dordoni, Christophe Delcourt, Nendo, Marcio Kogan & GamFratesi bought about culturally diverse influences in the collection's stylistic identity. With Minotti DNA and craftmanship, the collections face up to several markets, each characterised by unique aesthetic tastes, needs and cultures.

USM x Meadowlark
Behind tinted red doors on the outer fringe of Auckland CBD sits an unpretentious space housing a jewellery atelier showcasing traditional craftsmanship with an intimate showroom setting. The white concrete building is beautifully balanced with rays of warmth and filled with mindful treasures. Back in 2018, we were approached by Claire, Creative Director of Meadowlark to assist in the creation of her first USM piece. With a clear vision in mind, we worked together to create New Zealand's first commercially fit Haller E unit. The new custom-built Haller E storage unit now sits in the centre of Meadowlark's showroom providing the perfect mixture of storage and display for Claire and her partner Greg's flourishing brand. We caught up with Claire to chat about her sources of design...

A look back at the Tolomeo
Launched originally in 1987, the iconic Tolomeo is one of the most recognisable lamps today. Its slim silhouette along with tech sophistication remains to gift high design to the desks of architecture and professionals. The faithful Tolomeo series has developed into a full collection consisting of a wide variety of colours, bases and shades. Receiving the Compasso d’Oro award in 1989, the award-winning design ensures simplicity, adjustability and comfort. Articulated arms with visible joints control the hidden springs which provide 360-degree rotatability. The light can be directed quickly with the use of just one hand.

Best Zettel'z
Every year, the Best Design Awards celebrates excellence in graphic, spatial, product, interactive and motion design within the design community in New Zealand.On the evening of this year's event, guests were asked to participate and contribute to the 'Best' Zettel'z pendant with an illustration of ‘an object that inspires them the most’.ECC was lucky to view all the entries to select one favourite. We met with the winner Ethan, who later received the one-of-a-kind Zettel’z pendant with submissions from the event to take home.Watch the full interview below.

"A Castiglioni" Exhibition Opens in Milan
For the centennial of his birth, the Triennale di Milano have produced a major exhibition on one of the most important masters of Italian design, Achille Castiglioni (1918-2002). The exhibition is curated by Patricia Urquiola in collaboration with Federica Sala and creative partner Flos, and is on from October 6th, 2018 to January 20th, 2019 in the spaces of the Milanese cultural institution based in the Palazzo dell’Arte.

Frame, the world’s leading media brand for interior design professionals, awards their prizes for the most innovative and inspiring exhibition stands at the most renowned interior design fair in the world.
